Compressed air can carry water, oil, particles and other contamination from the intake air, compressor, piping and treatment system. Identifying the contaminant is the first step in choosing the correct separator, dryer and filter.
The most common compressed air contaminants are liquid water, water vapor, oil aerosol, oil vapor and solid particles. The correct treatment train usually combines bulk-water separation, drying and one or more filter types.
