Thermal Imaging Saves $24,000
This is an example of the many critical failures prevented by our Thermal Imaging Camera. Finding this problem prevented a catastrophic failure of the motor. It also prevented unplanned down time and potentially lost production. The thermal image was taken during a routine inspection by one of our technicians. It showed a “hot spot” in the motor connection box. After inspecting the connections and finding that they were all properly tightened, further examination was in order. Not until after the leads were removed, could the real problem be found. The wire was burnt from heat due to a faulty crimp on the wire lug. Note: All amp readings on all leads were within factory specification.
Repair cost was $1,575.00, a new motor cost $24,530.00.
