A construction materials manufacturer was experiencing poor compressed air quality, air compressor failures, excessive energy costs and extensive maintenance at one of its plants in Indiana. After conducting an air audit, Air Technologies® identified the need for a more intelligent, energy-efficient and reliable compressed air system, including new piping. Air Technologies® installed a complete DirectAIR® state-of-the-art compressed air facility on the manufacturer’s site, powered by five new Atlas Copco GA90 air compressors along with a regenerative polishing air dryer.
This solution required no capital equipment outlay on the customer’s part. With DirectAIR®, Air Technologies® owns, maintains, operates and monitors the compressed air system housed in its own facility on the customer’s site. Efficiency and reliability are guaranteed, and the manufacturer receives a monthly bill for use and consumption, similar to other utilities such as gas, electric and water.
After the system was up and running the manufacturer immediately began to experience a reliable supply of compressed air, and productivity increased because of the reduced production downtime. In addition, the customer estimated that they would save $41,000 a year in electric costs due to the energy-efficient system.
