Air Technologies® saves Michigan steel foundry $33,500 in annual energy costs—plus a $21,168 energy rebate

Eagle Alloy, Inc., a Michigan steel foundry, is set to save $33,500 per year in energy costs alone, plus a $21,168 energy rebate—with the help from Air Technologies®.

Eagle Alloy is a premier steel foundry, manufacturing steel and stainless steel moldings and castings. It was operating multiple modulation controlled air compressors for its 165,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The air compressors were not communicating with each other, which resulted in wasted energy and dollars. Eagle Alloy looked to Air Technologies® for a compressed air solution and energy cost savings.

Air Technologies® experts analyzed the situation and upgraded each compressor with a new MKV controller. The new controllers allow the modulation compressors to function as load/unload compressors. Air Technologies® then installed ManagAIR®, a state-of-the-art computerized system that centrally monitors and controls Eagle Alloy’s compressed air system 24 hours a day, ultimately increasing efficiency.

ManagAIR® will minimize the time that Eagle Alloy’s personnel spend in the compressor room while significantly reducing energy costs, maintenance costs and downtime. Combined, the new MKV controllers and the ManagAIR® system will save the company over $33,500 per year in energy costs. In addition to cost savings, Air Technologies® also applied for and won a $21,168 energy rebate for the manufacturer.
